Frequently asked questions about the Amplify IV, our 4-person sauna
What makes the Amplify sauna different from other infrared saunas?
Amplify is Sunlighten’s most intense infrared sauna, combining full-spectrum infrared (near, mid, and far) with additional halogen heaters for higher heat. It’s designed for those who want to sweat deeper, faster, and feel more productive during and after their session.
Who is the Amplify sauna best suited for?
Amplify is ideal for high performers, biohackers, and athletes looking for muscle recovery, reduced inflammation, and enhanced full-body resilience. It’s like a high-intensity workout for your wellness routine.
What are the health benefits of using the Amplify sauna?
Amplify supports muscle recovery, helps reduce inflammation, enhances detoxification, boosts circulation, and promotes overall resilience. The high-intensity heat helps activate these benefits more quickly and deeply than traditional infrared saunas.
How hot does the Amplify sauna get?
Does the Amplify sauna use full-spectrum infrared?
Can I customize my sessions in the Amplify sauna?
While Amplify is designed for high-intensity heat, it still allows you to adjust session length and temperature, so you can tailor the experience to your preferences. For more customizable options, view our mPulse smart sauna collection.
How does Amplify compare to traditional saunas or steam rooms?
Unlike steam or traditional saunas, Amplify uses infrared light to heat the body directly rather than the air. This allows for a deeper, more productive sweat at a lower ambient temperature—enhanced by its full-spectrum + halogen heat combo.
Is the Amplify sauna safe to use frequently?
Yes. Infrared therapy is gentle and clinically shown to be safe for regular use. Many users enjoy Amplify several times a week as part of their health optimization routine.
How long should I stay in the Amplify sauna?
Typical sessions range from 20–45 minutes. Start with shorter sessions and gradually increase time as your body adapts to the higher heat and deep infrared penetration. Always consult your doctor or a medical professional for individual recommendations based on your unique health and wellness goals.
Can the Amplify sauna be used outdoors?
Our saunas are engineered for indoor use. If you plan to place your sauna outdoors—with or without a roof—a custom sauna cover is required to maintain your warranty coverage. Keep in mind that ambient temperatures can affect preheat time. In colder climates, your sauna may take longer to reach optimal heat levels. For best results, consult our placement guidelines or speak with a Sauna Consultant.
What is EMF, and why does it matter in a sauna?
EMFs (electromagnetic fields) are invisible waves of energy associated with electricity and wireless technologies. Prolonged exposure to high EMF levels may contribute to oxidative stress, fatigue, and other health concerns. Sunlighten saunas are third-party tested by Vitatech Electromagnetics and shown to emit ultra-low EMFs—giving you peace of mind during every session. Learn more about our safety testing and standards here.
How long do Amplify saunas take to heat?
All our saunas heat up at a pace that’s safe for the sauna, and for you. Amplify is designed to hit its higher target temperatures faster than our other models. In ideal conditions, this can be approximately one degree per minute. You can learn more here.
